About SillyTavern Online

SillyTavern Online is the unofficial, browser-hosted version of the open-source SillyTavern project. We take the SillyTavern interface — beloved in the AI roleplay community for its character system depth — and run it on hosted infrastructure with built-in AI models, so anyone can use it without installing anything, configuring API keys, or signing up.

Our mission: remove every friction point between a user and their first AI roleplay chat.

We host the SillyTavern interface — same character system, same roleplay depth as the original. We provide built-in AI models — no need for users to bring OpenAI, Claude, or any third-party API key. We curate a 12,000+ character card library — across every genre, persona, and roleplay style. We keep the free tier real — daily refreshing free chats, no signup, no payment required.

We don't claim to be the official SillyTavern project — we're an independent hosted version. We don't collect your email, your name, or any account information for the free tier. We don't sell user data or use chat content for advertising. We don't apply mid-conversation content filters — adult content is opt-in via the 18+ toggle.

The original SillyTavern is an open-source project maintained by an independent team. We use the project's open MIT license to provide a hosted version of the interface, but we are not affiliated with or endorsed by the original SillyTavern project. If you want to self-host SillyTavern with full control over your own infrastructure, models, and data, the GitHub project remains the right choice.
